Member Standards & Obligations

I hereby acknowledge that the POLICE UNITY TOUR, Incorporated bicycle ride (“the ride”), to Washington D. C. from May 10th, 2011 to May 12th, 2011 is a serious strenuous physical activity and team effort in which I will be required to make certain milestones in order to keep the Tour on schedule, and that I will be one of many members on the Tour.  I also understand and agree that I will be subject to strict member standards and will be obligated to obey Authorized Tour Personnel, including, but not limited to, the Ride Marshals, Support Staff and Executive Board Members during the ride.  I agree, that should I be asked to leave the ride by authorized Tour personnel for any reason, such as a determination that I am in any physical distress, am physically unable to continue or are continuing at a pace detrimental to the Tour, or are in any way considered to be a danger to myself or other Tour members, that I shall immediately comply with that order by ceasing my Tour activities and proceeding directly into the nearest Tour Support Vehicle.

I also understand that should I fail to follow the direction of authorized personnel during the Tour, or refuse any medical offer of medical or physical assistance, that I shall be ejected from the Tour, shall be removed as a member in the Police Unity Tour Inc. and shall proceed at my own risk and will indemnify and hold the Police Unity Tour Inc. and all its members harmless for any and all claims made due to my or others injury and/or death resulting from any cause under any circumstances, which arises from my participation in the Police Unity Tour.  This includes any and all activities, whether on or off the road or bicycle, that are associated with the Police Unity Tour, and I understand that the Police Unity Tour Inc. shall not be responsible to my estate my surviving spouse, children or any other family member or me for any such injury.
